Megabrom 5 is a common prescription treatment for ocular inflammation and pain following cataract surgery. It has bromfenac ophthalmic solution, an anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) approved by the US Food and Drug administration to manage ocular inflammation. The medicine is extremely effective in treating postoperative inflammation and reducing ocular pain in patients who have undergone cataract surgery. The active component penetrates rapidly and extensively into all ocular tissues after ophthalmic application. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances responsible for causing pain and inflammation of the eye. The eye drop is specifically indicated for treating pain and swelling caused by cataract surgery.

All topical NSAIDs, including bromfenac, may slow or delay healing. Topical corticosteroid is known to delay or slow healing. Concomitant use of topical NSAIDs may increase the potential for healing problems. The eye drop should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the preparation. The formulation has sodium sulphite that may cause allergic-type reactions, including breathing difficulties and life-threatening anaphylactic reactions. With this topical NSAID, there exists the potential for an increased bleeding time due to interference with platelet aggregation. The ophthalmic solution should be used with caution in patients with known bleeding tendencies or who are already following a medicinal treatment that may prolong bleeding time.

The most common reported side effects experience by using Megabrom 5ml include conjunctival hyperemia, abnormal sensation in the eye, eye pain, headache, iritis, burning sensation in the eye, eye redness, eye pruritis, and eye pain. Other side effects include Temporary irritation, blurred vision, temporary blurred vision, headache, stinging of the eye, and burning sensation may occur.

One drop of Megabrom ophthalmic solution is sufficient for the affected eye, but it is always good to consult a doctor before buying this ophthalmic solution online. To treat postoperative inflammation in patients who have undergone cataract surgery, one drop of the solution should be applied to the affected eye twice daily, begin using 24 hours after cataract surgery and continuing through the initial two weeks of the postoperative period. Wash your hands before applying the eye drops. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper’s tip or let it touch to other skin’s surface. If you wear contact lenses, then remove them before applying the solution. The medication should not be applied while wearing contact lenses. You can consult your ophthalmologist for more details. Applying the medication, tilt your head back, hold the dropper over your eye and place a single drop into your affected eye. Gently close your eyes for at least one minute, placing one finger at the corner of your eye to apply gentle pressure. This is a trick to prevent the medication from draining out. Avoid blinking or rubbing your eye. Use lit exactly as prescribed by your ophthalmologist to get the most benefit out of it.
