Mycofit 500 mg prevents rejection in patients receiving allogeneic renal transplants. It should be used concomitantly with immunosuppressants and corticosteroids. It contains the active ingredient Mycophenolate mofetil, an immunosuppressant class of medication that reduces the strength of the body’s immune system. It is effective in treating several autoimmune diseases. Mycophenolate is used with other medicines containing corticosteroids and cyclosporine.

Mycofit 500 mg should not be given to patients with hypersensitivity to mycophenolate mofetil. It should not be given to women with childbearing potential who are not using an effective contraceptive measures. Mycofit can lower the ability of your immune system to fight infections. If you develop symptoms of an infection while using this medicine, you should discontinue treatment and contact your doctor. You should notify your doctor if you have these symptoms while taking this medicine. You may get an infection (such as a fever or cough), diarrhoea, or allergic reactions. Mycophenolate has been associated with congenital disabilities and pregnancy loss. If you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, let your doctor know before starting a medicine. Women should discuss birth control measures with their doctors. Breastfeeding should be avoided while taking this anti-rejection drug because this drug enters breast milk. Be sure to talk to your doctor before receiving any vaccines or undergoing any surgeries while taking Mycofit. Live vaccines should be avoided during the treatment, and you should discuss updating your vaccinations before starting this medicinal treatment. These include the nasal spray flu vaccine, rubella, measles, mumps, older shingles, and yellow fever vaccines. Inform your doctor if you bruise or bleed easily or get persistent or bloody diarrhoea, breathing difficulties, fever, or other signs of infection.

The most common side effects of Mycofit 500 mg are nausea and upset stomach. Other possible side effects include dizziness, headache, rash, tremor, and difficulty sleeping. Long-term usage may increase your risk of certain cancers, such as lymphomas and skin cancers. These are not the possible side effects of Mycofit 500. Let your doctor know about any side effects that bother you.

Take Mycofit tablets exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not discontinue treatment or change the dose unless instructed by the doctor. Take the tablet on an empty stomach unless your doctor tells you otherwise. If you cannot swallow the tablet, your doctor may prescribe a liquid suspension. Talk to your doctor more about the oral suspension.

 

The dosage may be reduced in people with underlying kidney problems. Taking Mycofit with food often helps prevent adverse effects such as nausea or abdominal pain. Your doctor may perform blood counts and your liver while taking Mycophenolate tablets.
