Motrin 200 mg / Ibugesic 200 mg
IBUPROFEN

All have similar pharmacodynamic properties but vary considerably in potency & to some extent in duration of action.
Indications: Analgesic, antipyretic dysmenorrhoea, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal disorders, soft tissue injuries, tooth extraction, post – partum and post operatively, acute gout.
Dosage: Ibuprofen 200-600 mg thrice daily or as required. Naproxen: 250 mg twice daily. Ketoprofen: 50 mg twice or thrice daily. Fenoprofen: 300-600 mg thrice daily. Flubiprofen: 150-200 mg daily in divides doses. Max. 300 mg.
Contra-indications: Pregnancy, active peptic ulcer, G.I. bleeding, lactation.
Special Precautions: Asthma, bleeding disorders. Cardiovascular disease & those receiving coumarin anticoagulants. Aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy.
Side-effects: G.I. Intolerance, rash, rarely jaundice, thrombocytopenia oedema.
Drug Interactions: Aspirin, displaces Ibuprofen from serum binding sites, reduces serum levels of flubiprofen. Naproxen & ketoprofen enhance effects or oral anticoagulants, phenytoin, methotrexate, sulphonamides, sulphonylurea hypodlycaemics & probenecid increases their concentration.
