The ventorlin inhaler is effective in treating symptoms including wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath caused by asthma and other conditions like chronic bronchitis and emphysema. The active ingredient in the medicine is salbutamol, which is used to get relief from bronchospasm linked with conditions such as asthma and other pulmonary diseases. It is a reliever medication that makes breathing easier in patients with asthma and other respiratory tract conditions. The medication is extremely beneficial in preventing asthma symptoms due to exercise and other conditions too. It is available in the form of extended-release tablets and inhaled route drugs such as metered dose inhalers, rotahalers, autohalers, and nebulizers, etc.

Uses of the drug

The ventorlin inhaler is used to prevent bronchospasm induced wheezing. This medicine provides relief by relieving the troubles like cough, cold, wheezing and shortness of breath. The medicine is available only on the prescription of a doctor. It is made up of Salbutamol which works by acting on the receptors in the lungs called β-2 receptors. Salbutamol acts on the receptors and stimulates them, as a result of which the muscles of the air passage relax. This leads to the easy passage of air and opens the airway.

Dosage information

Use Ventorlin inhaler exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The amount of medicine that you take depends on the strength of the medicine and the condition of the patient. The general recommendation for bronchospasm patients is that of two puffs every 4-6 hours in adults. For exercise-induced bronchospasm is two puffs taken every 15-30 minutes before exercise. For children younger than 4 years of age the drug must be taken only if prescribed by the doctor and the dose must be decided by him only. Do not use more of it and do not use it more often than your doctor ordered.

  1. Make the mouthpiece clean of any dirt or dust
  2. Shake the inhaler well before use
  3. Breath out the air so as to empty your lungs
  4. Put the mouthpiece into your mouth and grip with your lips tightly
  5. Take a deep breath and press the canister to puff up the drug into your air passage
  6. Remove the inhaler from the mouth and hold the breath for at least 10 seconds or as long as it is comfortable
  7. Breath out through the nose and replace the cap

Take the Ventorlin inhaler as prescribed by the Doctor. Try to take the dose at the same time each day; this reduces the chances of missing a dose. It is important to continue taking your medicine even if you feel sound. Do not stop the drug without doctor’s advice.
