Persol gel 2.5% is a topical therapy for patients with mild to moderate acne. It may be used in conjunction with another anti-acne topical formulation. The active component of the medicine is benzoyl peroxide, which reduces the number of bacteria that contributes to acne formation. Apply it to the affected area once daily to see a significant reduction in your acne. Do not apply on cuts, wounds or itchy skin. Sun protection is a must with a Benzoyl peroxide formulation. Another acne drug called Tretinoin can interact with Benzoyl Peroxide and cause severe irritation. Hence, avoid using these two medications together. There may be other drugs that can interact with Benzoyl Peroxide although the likelihood of any other interacting drug is minimal. However, you must inform your doctor about any medicines you may be using already.

Some common side effects of Benzoyl Peroxide include mild stinging or burning, itching or tingly feeling, skin dryness, peeling, or flaking, or redness or other irritation. If any of these side effects persist or deteriorate, seek medical attention right away. The side effects thus mentioned are not the only ones that you may experience due to Benzoyl Peroxide. There may be others.

Persol gel dosage depends on various factors like seriousness of the condition, age, sex and a host of other factors. Your doctor may prescribe the suitable dosage of this medication for you after examining your case thoroughly. Strictly stick to the dose regimen as prescribed by your doctor.

You must use Persol gel 2.5% strictly as advised by your dermatologist or according to the instructions enclosed within the medication package.
