Retin A Micro Gel 0.04% (15gm) containing Tretinoin is a prescription treatment for acne vulgaris. Tretinoin is a topical retinoid which is extremely effective in the management of acne and the first-choice treatment for photoaging. It is an oil-free microsphere gel which combats clogged pores responsible for causing pimples. Tretinoin gel helps to clear up these blemishes as well as prevents outbreak acne. The topical formulation speeds up skin cell turnover, clears up blackheads, and reduce the formation of acne. It does this by increasing the shedding of old skin cells and at the same time promote the growth of new skin cells.

You should not use Retino-A Micro gel 0.04% if you are allergic to Tretinoin. Avoid using it if you are already dealing with certain skin diseases such as acute eczema, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis. Tretinoin can worsen these skin problems, therefore, it is always important to use Retino A micro gel 0.04% under the supervision of a dermatologist.

The most reported side effects in patients receiving Retino-A Micro Gel 0.04% include redness, itching, dryness, and burning of the skin. These side effects are usually mild and disappear with regular usage over a few days.

Apply Retin A Micro gel once daily in the evening. Use it on the affected area of the skin where acne lesions appear and use enough to cover the entire affected area. Be sure to clean the skin with a mild cleanser before application. Apply a small amount of gel and spread all over the affected facial skin. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. Excessive application of tretinoin gel will not increase the efficiency but may increase the risk of side effects such as redness, irritation, and itching. You should continue to use Tretinoin gel for the full prescribed period. Signs of improvement will be visible within two weeks of regular usage. However, the dosage and duration of the treatment depend on the condition of the patient. During the treatment, you should avoid exposure to sunlight as Tretinoin may make your skin sensitive to sunlight and cause a burning sensation. If you cannot avoid sun exposure, then make sure you apply a moisturizer with an SPF of 20 and wear protective clothing to protect yourself from UV rays.
