Lanoxin 0.25 mg is used to treat heart rhythm problems and heart failure. It increases the strength of your heart muscle, normalizes the heart's rhythm, and helps remove excess water from your body. The main active pharmaceutical ingredient in the Lanoxin tablet is Digoxin, which helps make the heart beat stronger and have a more regular rhythm. Digoxin is categorized as antiarrhythmic. It works by affecting the sodium pump in your body. Digoxin blocks the sodium pump, which causes the sodium to move out of the cells and potassium to move into the cells. This affects your heart rhythm, increases the strength of your heart, and removes excess water from your body.

Lanoxin should not be used if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to Digoxin or other antiarrhythmic drugs. Although Lanoxin has been prescribed to help patients lose weight, it should never be used this way. Inappropriate use can cause serious complications.

Before you use Digoxin tablets, talk to your doctor if you are:

  — Pregnant or could become pregnant while taking medicine.

  — Breastfeeding mom. Lanoxin is distributed into breast milk; caution should be taken.

  — Ever had any allergic reaction to digitalis medicines

  — Taking other prescriptions and non-prescription medicines and herbal medications

  — Over 65, you may be more likely to get side effects associated with Digoxin.

Take each dose with a glass full of water. Your doctor will teach you how to monitor your heart rate and at what heart rate you should inform them before taking any more medication. One should not discontinue treatment without consulting the doctor. Sudden treatment discontinuation may make our condition worse.
