About the drug:

Eplerenone is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Eplerite Tablets. Eplerenone belongs to a group of medicines called aldosterone antagonist. Generally this medication is used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat high blood pressure.

Uses of the drug:

This medicine  is used to lower the high blood pressure, it is also used to manage moderate to severe congestive heart failure after a heart attack. This medication is used alone or in combination with other blood pressure-lowering medicines

Working of the drug:

Eplerenone belongs to a class of drugs called aldosterone antagonists or mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists. It blocks the biological effect of aldosterone, a naturally released hormone that raises blood pressure by acting on aldosterone or a mineralocorticoid receptors

Do not take the drug if you:
