Etidronate Sodium is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in EtifemCapsules. This drug belongs to a group of medication known as a bisphosphonates.This medicine acts primarily on bone and treats certain types of bone disease.

Uses of the drug:

Etifem is used to treat Bone (pagets) disease, hypercalcaemia of malignancy, and postmenopausal osteoporosis, this disease weakens and deforms bones. This drug is also used to prevent or treat bone problems that may occur after hip replacement surgery or spinal cord injury.

This drug consists of Etidronate Sodium. This drug belongs to a group of medicines called bisphosphonates. It works by slowing down the bone loss, that helps in keeping the bones strong and less likely to break. It also helps reduce bone pain from the disease caused due to bone loss.

Before you take the drug:

Do not take the drug if you:

  • Are hypersensitive to this active ingredient Etidronate Sodium or any other ingredient of the medicine
  • Have abnormalities of the esophagus
  • Have Osteomalacia, a certain bone disorder that causes painful bones
  • Are pregnant or planning to be pregnant in the near future
  • Are a breastfeeding  mother

Dosage:
