Janumet 50+1000 mg is an oral antihyperglycaemic that lowers the blood sugar level. It is an effective medicine to control diabetes by controlling the sugar level. It is mostly recommended for type 2 diabetes mellitus alone or in combination with other medicines that cure diabetes. It is not recommended to treat type-1 diabetes. This drug combines two active ingredients Sitagliptin and Metformin to get rapid control over high blood glucose. The combination increases the secretion of insulin and suppresses the release of glucagon by the pancreas. This drives the blood glucose levels to normal levels. As soon as the blood glucose levels become normal, then the increased changes in the insulin and glucagon stop and further prevents the hypoglycemic situation.
