Pantoloc 40 mg is prescribed to block the production of excessive acid in the stomach. It works efficiently by limiting acid secretion and inflammation caused by excessive acid in the stomach. Preventive medicine like Pantoloc is also effective against stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis. Pantoprazole, the active ingredient of the medicine is also helpful in treating a rare condition called Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Take Pantoprazole acid reducer and anti-emetic medication (Protonix, Pan) strictly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions printed on the medication label. Stop taking Pantoprazole if you get those symptoms and contact your doctor right away. Some less serious side effects of Pantoprazole are headache, rapid or irregular heartbeat, unexplained weight changes, upset stomach, gas, stomach pain, insomnia, nausea, vomiting or mild diarrhea.
