Pravastatin 40 mg oral tablet used to lower bad (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides and increase good (HDL) cholesterol. Your doctor may either prescribe this drug with other medicine to control blood cholesterol. By improving cholesterol levels, this drug helps to prevent cardiovascular events such as stroke or heart attack. The medicine should be used in combination with a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight loss.
