Centchroman is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Saheli tablets.
Centchroman is the world’s first non-steroidal oral contraceptive. It is a weak estrogen and a potent anti-estrogen with a high therapeutic index. Saheli is different from other birth control pills because it doesn’t contain any hormones. Instead of using the hormone, it blocks estrogen to prevent pregnancy.
Saheli 30 mg is famously known for preventing unwanted pregnancy. It is recommended for all women in the reproductive age group who does not want to have a pregnancy.
Centchroman works by blocking the uterus's estrogen, which leads to the uterus lining's alteration, which prevents a fertilized egg from implanting. Since it does not affect or disturb the endocrine system, the normal ovulatory cycle is maintained.
You must share with your doctor the list of all medications you may use, especially other contraceptive pills. However, there are no known drug interactions with Centchroman. There may be other medications that may show interaction. Never start a new medication without consulting a doctor.
