Product Description

Tropan XL- 5mg tablet is prescribed for the inability to control urine, uncontrolled bladder wall contraction, and a congenital disability affecting the spine. Tropan XL tablet contains Oxybutynin as the active ingredient. It is available in tablet form.

Tropan XL- 5mg treat urinary incontinence (inability to control urine), urgency and frequency to pass urine in unstable bladder conditions due to idiopathic detrusor instability (uncontrolled contraction of the bladder wall) or neurogenic bladder disorders (detrusor hyperreflexia in conditions such as spina bifida [birth defect affecting the spine] and multiple sclerosis). It is also indicated in children over 5 years of age for detrusor overactivity or neurogenic bladder disorders and nighttime bedwetting when other treatments have failed.

Tropan XL- 5mg active constituent is oxybutynin. It belongs to a class of medications called anticholinergics/ antimuscarinics. It works on the smooth muscles of the bladder, relaxes it and relieves the spasm, thereby controlling the frequency of contractions and urgency to pass urine.

Precautions

To avoid drug interaction, inform your doctor if you have any existing health issues or medication you may be taking currently. He will not prescribe drugs that could have a chance of drug interaction.

Side Effects

Like any other medicine, Tropen can also cause some side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Stop taking Tropan XL 5mg tablets and call your physician or go to a hospital immediately if you have an allergic reaction; the symptoms may include: a rash, breathing and swallowing problems, and swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Also, inform your physician if any of the following side effects get serious or last longer than a few days:

Headache, Dizziness, Dry eyes, Constipation, Dry mouth, Decreased urinary retention, Facial flushing, Nausea, Vomiting

How to Use

Tropan is a prescription drug; follow the regimen suggested by your doctor to get the most from this medicine. Tropan works best on an empty stomach. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.

Do not stop the medicine or change the dose without consulting your doctor. This drug is meant to be taken regularly, so keep on taking the drug as long as recommended by him.
