Betahistine Hydrochloride is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Betavert Tablets.
Betavert is a type of medicine called histamine analogue. It is an anti-vertigo drug. It was first registered in Europe in 1970 to treat Meniere's disease (a disorder of the inner ear). Meniere syndrome symptoms include dizziness, tinnitus, hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and nausea. Ménière’s syndrome is a condition that is caused due to the excess pressure of fluid in the inner ear. This medicine helps to ease and prevent these symptoms.

Betahistine's common side effects are diarrhoea, nausea, feeling sick, and indigestion. If any of these effects continue for a longer time or become worsen, contact your doctor immediately.
Betahistine Hydrochloride may rarely cause serious side effects such as rash, pruritus, urticaria, dyspepsia, nausea, peptic ulcer disease, headache, dizziness, insomnia, skin swelling, hives, itching, and vomiting.
The dosage depends upon your age, weight, medical condition, and response to the treatment. Therefore, your doctor will decide the dose. Take the dose exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
The drug is usually recommended to be taken with food or snacks. The tablet is to be swallowed with a glass of water. Do not break or chew the tablet. You should take the dose until you finish the prescription. Do not change the dose or stop it even if you feel better. You should complete the prescribed dose.
