Candid B lotion 30 ml is a prescription treatment for patients with skin infections such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and vaginal yeast infections. It is also effective against a fungal called pityriasis, an infection which results in lightening or darkening of the skin, neck, chest, arms, or legs. This medicine is suitable for adults and children above the age of 12 years. It is an antifungal antibiotic and steroid combination drug that is used against infections caused by fungus. It comes in both oral and topical form for the treatment of infections caused by fungus. While Clotrimazole is the main anti-fungal agent that prevents the growth of fungus, Bethamethasome Dipropionate is a strong corticosteroid that reduces swelling, redness, and itching associated with fungal infections. This drug works by killing the fungal cell. It inhibits the synthesis of cell membrane and also disturbs its permeability. This leads to fungal cell death.
Also avoid tight fitting clothes or synthetic clothing. If you are using this medicine for jock itch in your feet, then wear clean cotton socks, sandals or shoes that allows proper air circulation to the affected area. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Follow your doctor’s advice on any food or activity restrictions while using Clotrimazole and Betamethasome Dipropionate.
Many other drugs can interact with Clotrimazole and Betamethasome Dipropionate (for example Immunosuppressants like cyclosporine, or other corticosteroids like prednisone). Let your doctor know in advance if you use any other drugs or related medical products. Never start a new medication without consulting your doctor first.
Minor side effects of Candid B lotion 30 ml are skin rash, itching, dry skin, easy bruising of skin, unusually warm skin, blisters under the skin, burning or tingling sensation of the skin, lightening of the skin at the application site. If any of these become troublesome, get immediate medical help.
