About the drug:

Choline salicylate is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Dologel  analgesic and antiseptic liquid gel.  It is a nonsteriodal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug used to alleviate pain from a wide range of health conditions. It also gives relief from  swelling, pain, and pain caused by arthritis.

Uses of the drug:

Choline salicylate is indicated for treating pain and fever under various health conditions. It is also used for oral therapy, which includes treating mouth ulcer. It is also indicated for the toothache, and denture irritation.

Working of the drug:

Choline salicylate relieves from pain by resisting the prostaglandin production and decreases fever by working on the action of hypothalamus heat controlling center. Choline salicylate also inhibits the production of impulses.

Before you take the drug:

Do not take the drug if you:

  • Are allergic to this active ingredient Choline salicylate or any other ingredient of the medicine
  • Have gout
  • Are a child under 12 years
  • Are pregnant or planning to be pregnant in the near future, it may harm the unborn child
  • Are breastfeeding women as this drug may have a possibiltity to pass through a breat milk, and harm the new born children

Dosage:

How much to take the drug?

The dosage depends upon your age, weight, medical condition and your response to the treatment. Therefore, your doctor will decide the dose. Take the dose exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Never apply this drug in large quantity than it is prescribed by your doctor.

How to take the drug?

Use this drug  by applying it evenly to the affected area. Put a drop on the tip of the finger and rub gently onto the affected areas, it may be repeated every 3-4 hours as required. It is advised to use this medicament as per your doctor’s direction.
