Hytrin 1 mg contains the active ingredient Terazosin, which belongs to the group of medicines known as alpha-1-selective adrenoreceptor-blocking agents.
Hytrin Is effective in treating:
— Patients who are suffering from high blood pressure. They help to reduce blood pressure levels
— A condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia which is common in older men. This condition causes the prostate gland to grow too big and obstruct, and it can partially restrict the urine flow from the bladder. This ultimately brings to unpleasant symptoms such as:
— A weak or interrupted urine flow
— An urge to pass urine more frequently and a sudden urge to pass urine.
Terazosin causes the muscles of the prostate gland and bladder to relax, thus relieving these symptoms.
Do not take Hytrin 1 mg if you are allergic to Terazosin or any of the ingredients of the medicine. Avoid taking medicine if you have experienced a brief loss of consciousness when passing water or just after passing water. This happens more commonly if you get up at night to pass water.
Speak to your doctor before taking Terazosin tablets if you develop any of the following:
— Fainting, unsteadiness
— Impaired liver function
— Herat problems such as water in the lungs or heart failure
— Upper urinary tract obstruction
— Advanced kidney failure that requires intensive treatment or dialysis
— Absence of urine production
Terazosin formulation is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18.

You should not stop treatment unless instructed by the doctor. If it is important to interrupt treatment, please talk to your doctor.
If you take more Hytrin tablets, you should call your doctor immediately. Taking too many tablets can cause your blood pressure to drop severely and other side effects. Symptoms of an overdose include fainting, confusion, dizziness, fall in blood pressure, shortness of breath, low levels of sugar in your blood, muscle cramps, pounding of your heartbeat, and low levels of potassium in your blood.
If you forget to take a dose, you can take it when you remember unless it is time to take the next dose; otherwise, you should continue with your medication as prescribed. If you have not taken the tablet for several days, you should not continue using the same medication. Talk to your doctor for advice.
