Istamet 50+1000mg is an oral antihyperglycaemic that lowers the blood sugar level. It is an effective medicine for controlling diabetes by controlling the sugar level. It is mostly recommended for type 2 diabetes mellitus alone or in combination with other medicines that cure diabetes. It is not recommended to treat type-1 diabetes.

This drug combines two active ingredients, Sitagliptin and Metformin, to control high blood glucose rapidly. The combination increases insulin secretion and suppresses the glucagon release by the pancreas. This drives the blood glucose levels to normal levels. As soon as the blood glucose levels become normal, the increased insulin and glucagon changes stop and further prevent hypoglycemia.

What is Janumet

Sitagliptin and Metformin are sold under Janumet under the following strengths:

     –    Janument 50/500

     –    Janumet xr 50/500 (100 + 1000 MG)

     –    Janumet xr 50/1000 (100 + 1000 MG)

Janumet generic
