Ivetab 6 mg

Ivetab 6 mg is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any product component. The safety and effectiveness of the medicine in pediatric patients weighing less than 15 kg have not been established.

Talk to your doctor before taking Ivetab:

• if you have a weak immune system
• if you are taking any other medicine
• if you are pregnant or planning to conceive. If you are pregnant, Ivetab should only be used when needed; your doctor will decide this. You may feel sleepy, dizzy, or shaky after taking the anthelmintic drug. If this happens, avoid driving or using any machines.

In general, caution should be taken while giving Ivermectin to older adults as there is an increased risk of reduced renal, hepatic, and cardiac function.  

Like all medicines, Ivetab 6 mg can cause side effects, although not everyone who takes this drug gets them. Side effects associated with this drug usually do not cause serious complications and do not last long. They may be more likely to affect people infected with several parasites. This is particularly true if they are dealing with the worm Loa Loa.

People with intestinal strongyloidiasis may experience unusual weakness, sleepiness, dizziness, shaking or tremors, loss of appetite, stomach pain, and constipation.

People with microfilaremia may have headaches, muscle pains, sweating or fever, cough or sore throat, discomfort when breathing, dizziness, pain in your stomach, chills, low blood pressure, and pain or discomfort in your testes.

People with scabies experience itching that may get worse during the initial weeks of the treatment. This usually does not last long.  

People with the worm Loa Loa infection may develop neck or back pain, shortness of breath, abnormal brain function, mental status changes, loss of control of their bladder, and feeling tired or confused.

Ivetab is available as tablets, each containing 6 mg of Ivermectin. You must always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Talk to your doctor if you have any doubts about using Ivetab. For children under six years, crush the pills before swallowing them. Generally, treatment is scheduled as a single oral dose. Take the number of tablets your doctor has prescribed with water on an empty stomach. Do not eat food within two hours before or after taking the tablets. It may be unknown whether the food affects how your body absorbs the medicine.
