About the drug:

Cabimazole is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Neomercazole Tablets. Carbimazole belongs to a group of drugs or medicines called anti-thyroid medicine. Carbimazole is used for adults and children who are having an over-active thyroid gland known as hyperthyroidism.

Uses of the drug:

This medicine is used to decrease the formation of thyroid hormones in those  people who are having an over-active thyroid gland known as hyperthyroidism. Carbimazole is an anti- thyroid drug that may be used alone or together with other treatments for hyperthyroidism. It may also be used before and after radioactive iodine treatment and also after the surgery.

Working of the drug:

This medicine consists of Cabimazole. Cabimazole is rapidly metabolised after absorption into its active form that is methimazole and inhibits the action of thyroid peroxidase, it is an enzyme that involves in the coupling and iodination of thyroglobulin, which is important for the synthesis of thyroid hormone and thus it reduces the amount of thyroid hormones which your thyroid gland makes.

Before you take the drug:

Do not take the drug if you:
