Nizral solution 2% (50ml) is a prescription treatment for patients suffering from dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. It contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole which belongs to the family of drugs known as Azole antifungals and functions by preventing the growth of the fungus. Ketoconazole is also effective against certain fungal infections in the body or fungal infections on the skin and nail. It comes in the form of shampoo for topical application. For best effects, use it under the supervision of a doctor.
While using Ketoconazole topical, avoid covering the treated skin areas. Remember to follow your doctor’s advice properly for best results. If you are using this medicine for jock itch in your feet, wear clean cotton socks, sandals or shoes that allows proper air circulation to the affected area.

The mild side effects associated with the use of Nizral 2% shampoo include headache, stomach pain, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, dizziness hair loss, or tingling sensations. A severe side effect of Nizral 2% shampoo can be hepatic insufficiency caused due to chemicals. The symptoms include weight loss, vomiting, tiredness, rash or yellowing of the skin. Fever, loss of appetite, fatigue, discoloured urine and stool. If any of these side effects occur, immediate medical attention is required.
Apply the pea-size amount of the shampoo on the affected area. Rub with hands smoothly to form lather and let it stay on your scalp for a few minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
