Persol Gel 5% containing Benzoyl Peroxide (active ingredient) is an anti-bacterial topical drug that is prescribed to treat acne. It also exhibits a mild drying effect that allows excess oils and dirt to be washed away from the skin. Benzoyl Peroxide is marketed and sold under various trade names including Benzagel, and Persol, this medication is used to minimize the signs and severity of acne.

Persol Gel is approved for the treatment of bacterial infection known as acne vulgaris and for skin damage due to sun rays. Benzoyl peroxide, the active ingredient of the medicine works by reducing the number of acne-causing bacteria and by causing the skin to become dry and then peel off.

Avoid sunlight or artificial UV light exposure. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing to cover the treated areas while venturing out in sun. Do not use this medicine on a cracked, injured or irritated skin. If the medicine gets accidentally into eyes, then wash your eyes thoroughly with water.
