Silverex  Ionic gel 240 mg is a topical medicine used in treating wounds and burns on the skin. Silver nitrate, the medicine's active component, is an anti-infective agent that releases silver ions into the skin, killing or stopping the growth of infectious microorganisms. It also reduces inflammation associated with the burn/wound and promotes quick healing. The gel formulation is effective in all burns, cuts, wounds, and stitches. The product has also proven its effectiveness in post-surgical wounds as well.

You must not use Silverex  Ionic gel if you are allergic to its active ingredient, silver nitrate or any of its ingredients. Let your healthcare specialist know if you develop any allergic reaction while applying it for the first time. Avoid using other topical medications to prevent allergic reactions with other medicines. Do not cover the area being treated with the gel preparation with a bandage, as this may increase absorption of this drug and increase the risk of side effects. Do not use more than suggested; you relieve the symptoms as quickly as possible. Using more than the recommended amount will increase the likelihood of side effects.

Common side effects of Silver nitrate gel include skin staining,  skin irritation, and a burning sensation. Usually, these subside within a few days; if they don't, contact your dermatologist.

Before using Silverex  ionic gel, clean and dry the affected area. Massage gently into the skin. Be careful not to get the product into your eyes or mouth. If the gel accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse it with plenty of water and contact your doctor if your eyes are irritated. Do not stop treatment without consulting your healthcare provider, even if you feel better. Your condition may improve before the infection is completely cured. Therefore, continuing your treatment for the prescribed period is best for better results.
