About the drug:

The active ingredient in the drug is Atorvastatin and it belongs to the family of drugs called HMG CoA reductase inhibitors. Taking the medicine will lower the levels of low density lipoprotein  and triglycerides in the blood.

Uses of the drug:

The drug is mainly used in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and also in the treatment of Dyslipidemia .

Working of the drug:

The drug works by hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis. It lowers the levels of LDL cholesterol i.e bad cholesterol in the body which is considered the main reason behind various cardiovascular diseases including strokes.

Do not take this drug if  you:
