Do not take Trofame XR if you find difficulty emptying your bladder or have delayed or slow emptying of your stomach. Avoid taking medicine if you have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma or are allergic to Trospium chloride or its ingredients. The medicine has not been studied in children under 18 years of age.

Trofame XR 60 mg may cause a serious allergic reaction. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include swelling of the face/lips/tongue/throat. If you experience these symptoms, you should immediately discontinue treatment and receive immediate medical help. The most common side effects of the medicine include dry mouth, headache, and constipation. Other less common side effects associated with Trospium chloride include:

     —   Difficulty emptying the bladder.

     —   Drowsiness and blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how Trofame XR 60 mg affects you. Alcohol consumption can worsen the drowsiness caused by this medication.

Take Trofame extended-release capsules as advised by the doctor. Take one tablet two times a day with water. Take the pill on an empty stomach or at least an hour before a meal. Swallow the capsule without chewing or crushing it. Please do not stop taking the medicine without consulting the doctor as it may cause worsening of the symptoms. Complete the treatment course for better efficacy of the medicine.
