Elocon 10 gm cream has mometasone furoate, a corticosteroid drug which decreases the effects of the chemicals that cause redness, swelling, or inflammation. Mometasone Furoate is used to heal the inflammation and itching due to a host of skin conditions like allergic reactions, psoriasis, or eczema. The anti-inflammatory action of the drug helps treat inflammatory skin conditions such as dermatitis or eczema. This topical drug is sold under various brand names in the market, such as Asmanex.

Do not use Elocon 10 gm cream if you are allergic to Mometasone furoate, or any other ingredients of this medicine, or have any skin infections caused by any bacteria, virus or fungi. Do not apply on any open wound or severely damaged skin. If you have a wound on the skin due to sunburn, windburn, dryness, chapping, or irritation, or on an open wound, Elocon may further worsen your condition. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor that whether this medicine is safe for the unborn baby or a young breast-feeding baby. Also, let your health care specialist about certain medical conditions such as blood pressure or kidney problem, serious liver problem, a heart complaint, bleeding problems, or ulcerative stomach colitis

The commonly reported side effects associated with the use of mometasone furoate are acne, mild itching, tingling, or burning, or appearance of red or puss-filled bumps.

Use Elocon 10 gm cream, strictly according to your doctor's direction or according to the instructions on the medication label. A pea-sized amount of the preparation is enough to apply to the whole affected area is generally advised. Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so.
