Hair 4u 10% is a topical formulation prescribed for promoting hair growth. It contains the active ingredient Minoxidil, which acts through multiple pathways, primarily stimulating hair follicles and enhancing blood flow to the scalp. To date, Hair 4u is the mainstay treatment for androgenetic alopecia.
Minoxidil topical solution has been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for androgenetic alopecia. Typically, in men, baldness occurs with frontal recession and vertex thinning. Testosterone is the male sex hormone, which plays an important androgenetic alopecia following the conversion to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone responsible for stopping hair growth.
Precautions with Minoxidil topical solution
Do not use Hair 4u 10% if any of the following apply to you:
‒ History of hypersensitivity to Minoxidil, ethanol, or any other ingredients of the formulation.
‒ Known cardiac abnormality
‒ Children under 18 years of age
‒ Treated or untreated hypertension (high blood pressure)
‒ Using occlusive dressings or other medicine on the scalp
‒ Have a red, inflamed, irritated, or painful scalp (including sunburn and psoriasis).
‒ Have hypovolemic states (When you don’t have enough blood volume circulating in your body.
‒ The reason for hair loss is unknown
‒ Under 18 years of age
Hair 4u should never be applied to a shaved scalp. Additionally, it should not be used if there is no family history of hair loss and sudden or patchy hair loss is present. Also, regular use of it should not be used on a normal, healthy scalp. Some patients have a normal and healthy scalp.
Do not use the hair loss solution for 24 hours after using any chemicals to ensure that the scalp has not been irritated by the colour treatment. For optimal minoxidil results, it is recommended to avoid applying Hair 4u 10% on the same day as chemical treatment. To avoid possible scalp irritation, all the minoxidil solution should be washed off the scalp before using colour or chemicals. The safety and effectiveness of Minoxidil in individuals over the age of 65 years have not been established.
Side effects of Minoxidil topical solution
The most common side effects associated with the use of Minoxidil Hair 4u 10% solution include itching or irritation of the treated scalp area. Alcohol present in the solution can contribute to a burning sensation or irritation of the eyes. If the hair loss product gets into your eyes, wash it off with running water.
Other side effects associated with the medicine include dry skin, local erythema, hypertrichosis, and progression of hair loss. For any specific concern, please speak to your doctor for better clarity and product usage.
Application methods of Minoxidil topical solution
Hair 4u 10% is a topical solution for external use only. About 1 ml is to be applied twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, on a clean and dry scalp. The maximum dosage should not exceed 2ml. For the solution to work best, let the solution remain on your scalp for about four hours before rinsing it off. The topical solution should not be used more frequently than twice daily or should not be ingested or applied to other parts of the body, to avoid the risk of developing side effects and unwanted hair growth.
Here, it is important to note that the more frequent use or larger doses do not affect hair growth. Rinse your hands immediately if Minoxidil 10% topical solution is applied with your fingertips. In case of missing one or two applications of Minoxidil, patients should continue with the next dose. Continuous use of hair 4u is required to maintain hair regrowth. New hair growth during the treatment may be expected to be lost after withdrawal of the hair loss solution, and progressive hair loss will resume. Conditions like psoriasis or severe sunburn may increase the percutaneous absorption of hair 4u.
Usage instructions:
When applying the Minoxidil 10% solution, ensure you apply it directly to the scalp. The topical solution will not work as intended if applied to the hair and not reaching the scalp. To apply the product, gently squeeze the bottle to release around 1 ml of the solution and apply all over the affected area on the scalp with your fingertips. You can also apply the solution with the help of the dropper and spread the solution over the bald area, starting from the centre of the bald scalp area, using your fingers. Be careful that the medicine won’t run off the scalp; to avoid the situation, apply a small amount at a time.
