Lotepred eye drop of 5ml contains a topical anti-inflammatory corticosteroid called Loteprednol for ophthalmic use. It is a prescription treatment for inflammation of the eye, after ocular surgery. The ophthalmic solution contains Loteprednol, an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, which is not only effective in treating swelling of the eyes, but also beneficial for patients with bacterial eye infections. Loteprednol works by reducing inflammation and eases the symptoms.

Lotepred should not be used in cases of viral diseases of cornea and conjunctivitis. Prolonged use of Lotepred eye drop of 5ml may cause glaucoma accompanied by optic nerve damage; people may develop visual defects. Use of such corticosteroid may lead to cataract formation. Also, the use of Loteprednol after cataract surgery may delay the process of healing. The use of topical corticosteroid has been known to cause thinning of the cornea. Long term use of ophthalmic solution may put at increased risk of ocular infections. In some cases, the medicine may even worsen the existing infection. Fungal infections of the cornea may develop with long term usage of Lotepred application.

The most common side effects of Lotepred Eye drop of 5 ml include eye pain, inflammation, and foreign body sensation. Please tell your doctor if you are using any other medications including vitamins or herbal supplements. Avoid using medicines used for muscular spasms, gastrointestinal cramps, asthma, or urge consistence. Eye drops used for the treatment of high pressure in the eye.
