Before you take this drug:
Do not take this drug if you:
- Are allergic to this drug or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- Have any kind of skin infections caused by any bacteria, virus or fungi
- If you have a wound on the skin due to sunburn, windburn, dryness, chapping, or irritation, or on an open wound. Do not apply on any open wound or severely damaged skin.
- Are pregnant or breast feeding, ask your doctor that whether this medicine is safe for the unborn baby or for a young breast feeding baby.
- Tell your doctor if you:
- Have blood pressure or kidney problems
- Have serious liver problem
- Have serious heart complaint
- Have kidney problems
- Have bleeding problems
- Have stomach ulcerative colitis
Dosage:
How much to apply the drug?
Use the lotion, strictly according to your doctor's direction or according to the instructions on the medication label. A pea sized amount of lotion enough to apply to the whole affected area is generally advised. Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so. Also, do not use this medication after the prescribed period is over. All medications come with a patient leaflet. Refer to the instructions in them for detailed information of that particular medication. Always store this medicine in a cool and dry place.
How to apply the drug?
Before using take a skin allergy test by applying a small amount of lotion on an unbroken patch of skin and check for any kind of irritation or allergy of the skin towards the product.
After the skin test wash and dry the affected area to make the infected area free of any kind of dirt. Gently rub in the medicine into the skin until it is evenly distributed. Wash-off the medicine from the hands. Apply it religiously as per doctor’s indications so as the skin lightening process is faster. Proper care of the infected area is necessary. Overdose:

Momate lotion is contraindicated in hypersensitive patients to mometasone furoate or corticosteroids. Like other topical corticosteroid solutions, Mometasone lotion is contraindicated in most viral infections of the skin, including acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, tuberculosis, fungal skin infections, and ulcerative conditions.
If you follow the instructions, Mometasone skin products are unlikely to cause any side effects. Some people using the topical corticosteroid experience a burning or stinging feeling for a few minutes when they put momate lotion on the skin. This stop happening after you have been using it for a few days.
Serious side effects associated with the medicine are rare. You are more likely to have a serious side effect if you use mometasone on a large area of skin for a long time. Using a corticosteroid drug for a long time can make your skin thinner or cause stretch marks. Stretch marks are likely permanent, but they usually disappear over time.
Apply a few drops of Momate lotion 0.1% 30 ml to affected skin areas, including scalp sites; massage it gently and thoroughly until the medication disappears. For the most effective and economical use, hold the bottle's nozzle close to the affected areas and gently squeeze the bottle. Since the safety and effectiveness of the lotion have not been established in pediatric patients below twelve years of age, its use in this age group is not recommended.
As with other topical corticosteroid formulations, therapy should be discontinued when control is achieved. If no improvement is seen within two weeks, a reassessment of the diagnosis may be required. The lotion should not be used with occlusive dressings unless directed by the doctor. It should not be applied in the diaper area if the patient requires diapers or plastic pants are these garments may constitute occlusive dressing.
The corticosteroid medication is to be applied as directed by the doctor. It is for topical use only. Please avoid contact with the eyes. The topical medication should not be used for any disorder other than that for which it was prescribed.
The treated skin area should not be covered with bandages or wrappings to be occlusive unless directed by the doctor.
