Montair LC kid combines Montelukast sodium 4 mg and Levocitrizine 2.5 mg, which treat dust allergies and rhinitis. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. This drug is used worldwide under different brand names for treating various seasonal allergies. It is also used for other treatments, especially to relieve asthma symptoms and skin allergies. Levocetrizine is non-sedative antihistamine.

Montair LC is mainly used in children to treat seasonal and perennial allergies (which occur all year round), such as allergic rhinitis (a condition associated with sneezing and stuffy, runny, or itchy nose and watery eyes). Symptoms include bronchospasm, seasonal rhinitis (hay fever) and Urticaria. “Mont” in Montelukast stands for the place Montreal, where Merck developed the drug. Montelukast works by blocking a group of substances called Leukotrienes that cause the narrowing and swelling of the air passages. Montelukast also helps improve asthma and allergic rhinitis symptoms by blocking the Leukotriene from attaching to its receptors. On the other hand, levocetirizine works by reducing the production of allergy-causing agents in the body, i.e., histamines.

Montair 4mg is usually a safe and effective medication when used appropriately as prescribed.
