Patients who previously used opioids may be more sensitive to lower doses of opioids.

Naltrexone is not suitable for patients with acute hepatitis or liver failure, physiological opioid dependence, and in patients with acute opioid withdrawal. Patients who previously exhibited hypersensitivity to Naltrexone or any other ingredients of the medication should avoid taking Nodict 50 mg. Excess doses of Naltrexone can cause hepatocellular injury and should not be given to patients with liver failure. Patients receiving this medicine should be warned of the risk of pneumonia and suggest taking medical attention in case they develop signs of acute hepatitis. This drug antagonizes the effects of opioid-containing medicine such as cold and cough remedies, opioid analgesics, and anti-diarrheal formulations. A lot of patients are unable to discriminate between the common effects of withdrawal from alcohol and the common side effects of Nodict 50 mg.

Nodict 50 mg can cause side effects, but they are usually mild and short-lived. Some reported common side effects to include anxiety, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, anxiety, sleep problems, joint pain, muscle aches cramps and abdominal pain, and headache. Other less common side effects include thirst, chills, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, skin rashes, decreased potency, depression, and irritability. Naltrexone can harm one’s mental alertness, balance, and coordination, especially during the initial days of the treatment.

Treatment with Nodict 50 mg must be individualized according to addiction level as well as the needs of a patient. FDA recommends an initiation and maintenance dose of 50 mg per day for most patients. Side effects associated with Naltrexone may make the patient reluctant to continue this medicine; in that case, the initial dose may reduce for several days or divided into two doses. Patients are advised to take the tablet with food, in case of side effects, treatment can begin with half of a tablet and eventually move to full tablet daily.
