Augmentin 375 is a combination antibiotic with Amoxicillin trihydrate and Clavulanic acid. The combination is a mainstay antibiotic in emergency departments and primary care clinics. The antibiotic works by killing bacteria that are responsible for causing infection. Amoxicillin is categorized under the class of medications known as penicillins and can sometimes be stopped from working. Another active component, clavulanic acid, stops this from happening. Antibiotics are not meant to fight viral infections like colds, flu, etc. Augmentin 375 bacterial infections include ears, lungs, skin, bones, and joints. Nasal sinus, skin, urinary tract, etc.
