Precautions with Ivermectin cream

     –    Ivrea cream is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to Ivermectin or any other ingredients in the formulation.

     –    The safety and effectiveness of Ivrea cream 1% in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established.

     –    Ivrea cream may cause local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis. The topical preparation contains certain chemicals that may cause allergic reactions and cause severe irritation. If contact allergy or severe irritation occurs, treatment with Ivermectin should be discontinued.

     –    The safety and effectiveness have not been established in individuals suffering from particular forms of rosacea or other facial dermatoses such as facial keratosis, oral dermatosis, seborrheic dermatitis, and acne.

     –    Some patients may experience worsening of rosacea, which usually resolves within a week with regular product usage, as might be expected.

     –    Do not cover the treated area with dressings.

     –    Avoid the use of alcoholic cleansers, abrasive agents, astringents, peeling agents, and any other irritants that have the potential to irritate your skin.

     –    In case of severe worsening, consider treatment discontinuation.

     –    As topical Ivermectin has not been studied in individuals with kidney and liver impairment, caution should be exercised in treating such patients.

     –    No drug interactions have been performed. Co-administration of Ivermectin with any other topical formulation for rosacea treatment has not been investigated. However, avoiding concomitant use of potentially irritating topical products is recommended.

     –    Ivrea should not be used by pregnant women unless the potential benefits to the mother are more than the possible risk to the fetus. Due to the potential for serious adverse reactions from Ivrea in nursing infants, your healthcare provider will decide whether to discontinue treatment or discontinue nursing, considering the medicine's importance to the mother.

Side effects of Ivermectin 1% cream

Ivermectin Ivrea 1% cream is generally well tolerated. The topical formulation is safe and has no serious side effects in clinical trials. The most reported side effects include skin irritation, burning sensation, dry skin, and pruritus. They are usually mild to moderate and do not require treatment discontinuation. If you develop a serious allergic reaction or severe irritation, stop the treatment and contact your dermatologist immediately.

Usage instructions of Ivermectin cream

Ivrea is a topical medicine not meant for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal purposes. It should be applied only to the face. Generally, one application is recommended daily for up to four months. Ivrea cream should be applied daily over the treatment course, which may be repeated. Treatment discontinuation should be considered if no significant improvement is observed after three months of regular application.

For facial treatment of rosea lesions, it is recommended that no more than 1 gm or 3-4 pea-seized quantities should be applied to the affected skin area. The cream should be evenly spread all over the face, avoiding the eyes, nose, and mouth. After the cream has dried, a high-quality sunscreen should be applied all over the ivermectin-treated areas when you are likely to be exposed to the sun. Also, other sun reduction measures should be used, such as wearing a hat or protective clothing (fully covered clothes). Do not apply any cosmetic product immediately before application of Ivermectin cream. Apply sunscreen or other cosmetics after Ivrea cream is dried and absorbed into the skin. Hands should be washed after every application.
