Understanding the Dual Action of Dox T-SL: Antibiotic and Probiotic Benefits

The Doxt SL capsule is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. Read more about Doxt SL 100 composition, uses, and benefits.

Doxt-SL capsule is a combination of two medicines, namely Doxycycline and lactobacillus. Doxycycline is an antibiotic that restricts bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins the bacteria require to perform important functions. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism that helps restore the balance of good bacteria in the gut or intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

The consumption of antibiotics commonly used to treat infectious diseases can reduce the protection of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, ultimately leading to several diseases. Thus, probiotics administration can help restore the normal intestinal flora and induce the growth of harmful bacteria. Also, combining antibiotics and probiotics may reduce the complications associated with antibiotics.

Doxycycline has a greater ability to penetrate tissues, a greater volume of distribution, better antimicrobial properties, and a longer half-life. The medicine has been used in clinical practice to treat various infectious diseases for over 40 years with a well-known safety profile. Despite a high percentage of drug-resistant strains of bacteria, antibiotic medicine has not lost its therapeutic value and is still the choice of medication for certain bacterial infections.
