Follow a white-teeth diet

There are many things that are responsible for making your teeth yellow. The main culprits that can change the white color of the teeth are red wine, black tea, smoking cigarettes or cigars, etc. Even colas, gravies and dark juices are known to stain the teeth. It is preferable to avoid having dark colored foods or drinks which are usually responsible for staining your teeth. Even if you have such foods or drinks, you must brush your teeth immediately. You could also choose the best teeth whitening products which are available over-the-counter or at dentist’s clinic.

Use a good toothbrush

It is necessary to change the toothbrush at least every two to three months. When you use the same toothbrush for a long time, the bacteria start thriving on it. They are then transferred back to your mouth while brushing. The perfect way to brush teeth is to place your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle against your gums and move it in a circular motion. Also, make sure that you brush at least twice a day.

Clean your tongue

You must clean your tongue daily with a tongue scraper. This enables to get rid of the plaque on your tongue thus freshening your breath. Failing to do so, develops buildup of bacteria on the tongue. This is the principal reason for getting bad breath.

Eat detergent foods

Most of the firm and crisp foods help in cleaning the teeth. So, eat foods such as apples, raw carrots, celery and popcorn. It would be the best idea to eat these foods at the end of your meals.

Gargle with apple cider vinegar

Gargling is as essential as brushing your teeth. You can use vinegar or salt to gargle your mouth. This can help to remove stains, whiten teeth and also kill bacteria in your mouth and gums.

Flossing

Flossing removes the plaque that is collected between two teeth. If you are not good at flossing, start flossing in front of the mirror. You need to make sure that you floss every day, preferably after brushing your teeth. Nowadays, a huge range of dental floss products is available at chemists.

Sometimes even after following all these tips, we get bad breath. In such a case, you could use alcohol-free, sugar-free mouthwash. If you want to get white teeth, you can also choose a medium coral or light red lipstick that would make them look whiter. Lastly, eat healthy food to protect your sparkling smile.
